We all need to be aware of the predicament we face when a disaster strikes. It really does not matter where you live; you have issues beyond your control that can place you and your family in harm’s way. For example if you live in Los Angeles you need to be ready for earthquakes, in Oklahoma, tornadoes, in Florida, Hurricanes, in Washington, Mt. St. Helen’s, in Iowa, floods. Each part of the country has their issue. It may be as simple as a massive power outage, do not forget terror threats, pandemics, etc. You need to consider what you might in store for and prepare accordingly. What kind of survival gear do you need? 72 hours kits, Office Kits, School Lockdown Kits?

Having said enough about the scary stuff, we should concentrate on making sure we know what we should have to properly prepare Emergency kits for events in our lives putting us and our loved ones in danger.

This is a short list of items you should consider for survival. By all means, be creative and add to the list as you see fit. Survival Gear should be personal.

- Comfortable and durable shoes and several pairs of socks

- Books on wilderness survival, primitive living, and gathering wild foods

- Walkie-talkie radios with solar chargers.

- A radio and batteries; solar power or crank radio is preferred

- Fishing gear

survival backpack list

So you are planning on a camping trip for vacation. That’s a good plan especially if you are the adventurous and sporty type. Camping is something that is memorable and fun. Here, you experience a one of a kind living outside your home. If others would prefer to stay in a hotel and live comfortably, yours would be simple living with the sky above you, grilling meat over camp fires, and listening to crickets in late nights. Then there is swimming on the lake or beach nearby and feeling the natural breeze.

The experience in camping is promising. But one of the major things to consider is the things to bring. In camping, there are particular equipments that are suitable for the kind of living and the environment in which you want to stay. Since camping is basically “living outside”, you should be sure that what you bring for that kind of vacation experience will keep you comfortable, safe, and enjoyable at the same time.

One of the must-haves camping equipment is the backpack. What good is putting a list to bring for the camping if you have nothing to put it on? The backpack usually has several compartments so that any camping equipment or items will be in place. There is a part where the water can be placed, and where the food and medical kits can fit. Although you can use any traveling bags for camping, there is still advantage when you use backpack for your camping. For one, backpacks are spacious inside so you can put everything on your list. Since you would be living outside, you would bring a lot of things and having a spacious baggage would be helpful. Another advantage of using backpacks as camping equipment is the easy-to-carry feature. Whether you plan to camp on the beach, on the mountains or on the parks, backpacks can be carried along easily as it is simply placed in your back. This is definitely more convenient than carrying along rolling luggage or shoulder bags.

Another camping equipment to bring along the camping is the tent. There are various types, shapes, and sizes of tents that suits different plains and grounds. Tents are considered as your shelter outside so you need to look for a tent that is suitable for the camping location that you choose. Better yet, choose a general user-friendly, easy to set up, and easy to carry tents. You can buy tents from general stores through their sports sections or from specialty stores that offer camping equipment or traveling equipments.

In camping, there is also miscellaneous camping equipment that ensures that you have convenient and comfortable camping. This includes hammocks, camping stoves, Swiss knife, camping survival tools, and sleeping bags to name a few.

To get various choices for camping equipment and gears, it is advisable to buy from specialty stores for the simple reason that everything they offer is suitable for camping. As long as they have huge inventories of camping equipments, you can also be sure that they have various camping items to make your camping convenient.

Going camping with the family can be a memorable experience for children of all ages in the family can enjoy. The great outdoors offers a variety of shows and activities to keep all the kids occupied. To make your camping experience a memorable one, we would create a random list of items that are often overlooked or questioned for family camping trips.

Umbrella strollers

If you have small children, you will want to buy a stroller low-cost umbrella that can be abused in rough terrain of the outdoor life in all its family road trip. The cars not only work for children children who can not walk or who can barely walk. Even your four year old might need to jump in the stroller for longer hikes. The beauty of strollers deal almost no place in a vehicle. You can carry with you in the back of your SUV or car.

Camp Stove

Even if you're not planning on making your own meals during your camping trip or day trip to another camp stove while it is useful to have around independence. If the weather turns cold or wet, even the smallest of camp stoves can provide heat to save lives.

Sleeping Pills

For most adults, a good sleeping pad is more or less accepted as a necessary element for field trips. However, children small often overlooked when it comes to the use of sleeping pills. As adults, our body reacts to the ground floor definitely hard during sleep a night under the stars. Because children can only jump in the morning and run around as if they had slept in a feather bed all night, people tend to neglect when it comes to using a pillow to sleep. In fact, while the mats actually make the bed more soft and durable, one of its purposes more effectively is to allow your body to retain heat overnight. The cold soil can drain body heat of a child during the night. The air space created by the construction sleeping platform helps provide a barrier between the cold and the body of his son.

Waterproof Tent

While most of us theme of time as we plan our trips, camping, can often be surprised by the weather. Having a waterproof tent is a necessity to maintain Dry your family at night. Not only will you sleep better and enjoy each other through family activities the next day, but will protect elements. A cold rain followed by a cold night can cause hypothermia very quickly whether a person and his sleeping bag gets wet.

If your store is not resistant the water, no waterproofing products can be purchased at sporting goods stores. Make sure you use seam sealer on your tent to protect against leakage of heavy rain or pooled water. When the waterproofing of your tent, do not forget to try the back of the store as well. For added security, carry a plastic sheet or other barrier that can go under the tent. Take extra precautions to ensure that the plastic barrier does not extend far beyond the floor area of the store. This can cause water to pool around his tent and build up. Even the best tents waterproof can get wet if sufficient water gathers around them.

Collapsible Cooler material

The space-saving gadgets have become a favorite family for many families love the outdoors. While they can provide almost as much as the cooling capabilities of a color difficult case, are more flexible and savings space. When you have emptied the contents of your cooler, which can be collapsed and provide more space for you for the trip home.

Water and sanitation water

By going on a road trip through the outdoor life, is important that you take adequate amounts of water for his family in the vehicle. When out of the car to go to camp, not necessarily have to take all the water with you. Your car has just become an emergency center that you can return to if necessary. What you need to carry with you, however, is water enough to get you in for the day, and some of purification tools. Some options include iodine tablets, small amounts of chlorine or portable water filters that are popular with hikers. When making a large number excursions and hiking, water will be one of their most precious items. Make sure you are prepared to handle any possible in light of the circumstances that may threaten their ability to take the necessary hydration.

wilderness survival guide

First adventure of India in National Geographic Channel (remember Chronicles Croc or Snake Wranglers?), Wildlife expert and Gerry 'herpetologist Gerald' Martin has been wild in the heart from the time he was a child. He grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and nature, and at 17 began attending the legendary Whitaker Romulus in the Madras Crocodile Bank. In fact it was the bank's youngest commissioner. In view 31 hatch baby cobras in his room during a project to search for crocodiles in the house, Martin has done it all.

Today shares his love of adventure and educates children about nature and animals through camps and workshops. MetroMela He tells how parents can make children of the city away from the TV and close to nature, and even shares some of her favorite destinations to outdoors. Read on … Parents can organize all types of outdoor excursions, instead of visits to a mall or movie. Even a walk in Cubbon Park, a trip Bannerghatta National Park, sitting by one of the new lakes, doing things in the garden, making bird boxes, bird feeders, etc., could make a difference for children. The outdoors does not have to be partitioned into something you see when you travel.

When you travel, Bangalore is surrounded by desert, beautiful and magnificent, forests and hills. Explore! Children are inherently seduced by pets. All we need do is feed it. If you have a pet at home, teaching children to be responsible for it for example. If the pet brings joy to parents, who need to share with their children.

If you are taking children out on a trip, remember that children need small sections in their activities. There's a fine line between adventure and misadventure. Ensure that final emotion is positive, it is essential to the process of developing a strong interest and passion to the children about the outdoors. Some areas of the around Bangalore would be ideal adventure trips for families with children. I personally have some favorites as Jungle Retreat in Masinagudi, Hunkal Woods in Chikmagalur and farms in Bannerghatta Geedee here!

Gerry Martin – BangaloreKids are often scared of insects, reptiles and even lizards. In my experience, most fear is conditioned and comes from others around them – parents, friends and others. All we need is to keep our fears to ourselves and not transfer them to our children. For those who are afraid, help make things slowly – exposure to short and gentle animals that are afraid. Building knowledge about the animals also helps.

Gardening is a great idea to help children connect with nature. It builds a strong connection, it gives children a sense of accomplishment, developing a commitment to something alive and helps them stay away from malls, bowling alleys and other decadent hang outs.

Gerry Martin works with children from age 9 to 16. His fields involve a structured introduction to the nature and the desert, the city where children learn about survival, the do's and don'ts outdoors and get "hands-on experiences in nature and leave with some connection to the environment." Activities include in tree climbing, hiking, camping, searching for direction, bird watching, among many others. For more information, call 09,845,437,337.

survival backpacks

As the modern equivalent of the explorers of old, the backpacker will be exposed to all sorts of climatic conditions in different types of terrain. He or she should be self-sufficient and prepared for the worst at all times. And it begins preparation before leaving home, with the selection of backpacking gear. Of particular importance is your bag backpacking sleeping. Do not get a good nights rest can lead to mistakes that can mean the difference between enjoying this view of the sunset from a mountain and seeing the sunset from a single search and rescue helicopter.

1. Backpacking sleeping bag – All sleeping bags are not equal

Before choosing a sleeping bag may be useful to know what are some major differences among the backpackers sleeping bag and sleeping bags another. The needs backpacker an advantage to the special considerations that the backpacker must address:

The sleeping bag, backpack should be lightweight. A typical backpacker will already be taking food, clothes for rain or snow, fire starting and cooking utensils, flashlights, bottled water, first aid supplies and survival, and all special equipment to traverse the terrain, the backpacker will, like ropes, nails, etc. Adding a sleeping bag to 25 pounds this load weight can be unmanageable for someone not blessed with a Herculean constitution.

It should be easy to store. The sleeping bag, backpack should roll in the shortest possible space for easy storage and movement. A big, bulky sleeping bag strapped to his back may be a major obstacle when moving through difficult terrain or heavily forested.

The sleeping bag, backpack should adequately protect the backpackers from the elements. This is a more complex issue is addressed and considered in more depth later.

2. Nature and You – How to protect yourself from the elements

Before you on a trip to the swamps of Louisiana. It is the area to be hot? Cold? Humid? Seco? Is rain (or snow), the season there? What kind of temperature variation between day and night? A synthetic type polyfill or isolated backpacking sleeping bag will keep you warm when wet better one to be filled, but a down filled bag will keep you warm in frozen, windy environments. A simple nylon shell may work well in a warm, moist, but cold winds cut right through it. Microfiber linings work well when wet, and provide good protection against wind, but can be cumbersome and costly. And, of course, the amount of a given material of the sleeping bag backpack used directly influences the weight and volume.

3. One size does not fit all

Although it would be nice if you could choose a sleeping bag to backpack all climates, this is not possible. Using a light shell in the mountains it will freeze all night, and using a down-filled sleeping bag, backpack on a hot beach somewhere will lead to a stifling hot night in her purse. Even within groups of bags suitable for a particular climate, what works for one person may not work for someone else. Circulatory and metabolic differences between people lead to different needs in his sleeping bag, backpacking. Check the temperature rating sleeping bag, they will give you an idea of the temperatures of a bag that will keep you comfortable in. Also consider purchasing accessories such as bells to minimize heat loss through your head, or the draft tube to get rid of excess heat in the sleeping bag with backpack.

4. Final words

After choosing a new sleeping bag that works for you, also consider buying a lining of his sleeping bag. Using a liner will reduce having to wash the sleeping bag around. This will greatly extend the life of your sleeping bag, as the washing tends to make the complete isolation "kills" greatly reducing the convenience and efficiency. Choosing a good quality backpack sleeping bag and take proper care will enjoy years of backpacking.

You can choose to assemble your own emergency kit, or better yet, you can buy a kit assembled before one of many online suppliers. A pre-assembled kit survival can offer a variety of emergency supplies that are designed to meet special needs. This is what you are looking for when purchasing a survival kit.

A complete set
Your survival kit should contain enough to satisfy the requirements of the emergency. For example, no matter the size of your survival kit, you should establish appropriate arrangements for their most important need in a crisis – water. Increased thirst doing a situation emergency, leaving at risk of dehydration. You will be amazed at the amount of target = "_blank" title = "Water – Emergency Survival> Emergency kits out there that contain very little provision for water.

A high quality kit
Sure, you could buy a cheaper, lower quality kit, but what you really want to be caught in an emergency situation, with flashlights that do not work or a lighter that has been damp? Some people think they have a kit of low quality is better than no kit at all. However, there is really no point in having an emergency skirt that does not mean to do – to stay safe, warm and comfortable until help arrives.

A complete kit
Imagine opening your kit, and the search four band-aid for first aid. You need a team that is stocked with sufficient to last through an emergency. For example, a "light> desert kit will have sufficient to last at least 36 hours, which is the time it would take before rescue teams arrive. The kit form survival to have an image of the folder and its contents. Count the number of items to ensure he is not paying for things not in the bag

Expensive kit
This does not mean you're buying the dollar above product can be found without looking if it meets your needs. However, be careful to buy something that is way too cheaply. Remember, broken GPS, flimsy knives, and sunglasses cardboard film not a good survival kit do.

An easy-open Kit
I will not be captured fighting to unzip his team during an emergency. The kit should come in a durable, waterproof, easy to open the bag has easy to find compartments to keep items separately. Avoid complicated kits locks and closures.

A easy to use kit
Your survival kit should be designed with their management skills and abilities in mind. For example, a well-traveled hiking be easy to handle a sophisticated team of cutting-edge survival that includes all modern gadgets. If you are not too comfortable with the tools, on the other hand, you may want to look for an easy to use basic equipment that does not requite too many high-tech knowledge to use.

A Team Fresh
Remember that although items like food and water bars will come with a lifetime of many years, the storage of the conditions bad transport can reduce the life of the items on your computer. While this does not mean these items will be spoiled and detached as it means that the control the expiration dates of the elements of the kit is something that has to do seriously.

A versatile kit
Looking for a kit that has the least some tools that can be used for various purposes. For example, tape is one of those things that can be used in a dozen different ways, such as garbage large plastic bags. Higher-tech versions would be a compass that serves as a torch that doubles as a whistle that doubles as a … you get the point.

A kit for every occasion
While everyone needs at least a basic survival kit, some people might need more than a kit to meet all your emergency needs. For example, if you're an avid hiker, you will need a wilderness survival kit that contains speakers air heater body and gear housing, and supplements their basic survival kit. Also a good idea to have more of a kit, and hide in his house in the car, office, etc.

wilderness survival skills

Before venturing into the wilderness to prepare for the unexpected.

* Get avalanche certified and carry a shovel of avalanches, in Beacon and Probe if you are a winter enthusiast of the voyage!
* Take a first aid course since accidents do occur.
* Always carry a survival kit.

For the general enthusiast, basic survival skills are included here to initiate an understanding of what should happen in a wildlife emergency. Note that you must remain calm when implementing these survival skills. A clear head will allow you to implement and plan for survival and rescue.

1. FIRE. It can provide heat, predators, purify water, cook food and signal rescuers. The best source for a fire is: a party of metal and stone with a wooden handle and a scraper, because the cotton balls soaked in petroleum use tinder and stored in waterproof containers. Sort your firewood in the form of hut and place your emergency blanket behind you to reflect heat.
2. SHELTER – a commercial trash bag with a hole cut for his head is useful to protect you elements. Always keep the closest to your body dry to the isolation of the elements. If you are stranded, find a quick natural shelter and wrap yourself in a blanket emergency.
3. Signaling with a whistle and a mirror. A whistle can carry further than a yell and a mirror can reflect up to 20 miles. A triangle of fires is a distress signal. Create smoke during the day to show distress. Spell out SOS with organic materials.
4. Food / water. A person can survive up to three days without water and food up to three weeks, but no plan for it. Always pack extra food bars high in carbohydrates. Drink water in the cool night. They capture the rainwater in your emergency blanket. Never drink your urine. Boil water for 10 minutes minimum if you can. Search water at all times.
5. FIRST AID. Always carry base.

NOTE: as an essential survival skill, consult a topographic map comprehension

survival equipment

We are talking about killing devices to hunt and protect themselves. When you are gone from the electricity and all current technologies, people have to use some primitive techniques to survive.

KILLING DEVICES
There are several devices of death can be built to help you obtain small game to help him survive.
The rabbit stick, spear, bow and arrow, and the sling are such devices.

RABBIT STICK
One of the simplest and most effective killing devices is a stout stick as your arm from fingertip to shoulder, called a "rabbit stick." You can either throw up or sidearm and with considerable force. The best is launched so that flies sideways, increasing the likelihood of hitting the target. It is very effective against small game that stops and freezes as a defense.

SPEAR
You can make a spear to kill small animals and fish. Jab with the spear, not throwing.

BOW AND ARROW
You can build an adequate short-term bond quite easily. When it loses its elasticity or is broken, you can replace it.

1. Select a hardwood stick around 1 meter (3 feet) long that is free of knots or limbs. Carefully scrape the large end down until it has the same pull that the small end. Careful examination will show the natural curve of the stick. Always scrape from the side facing you, or the bow will break the first time you pull it. Dead, dry wood is preferable to green wood.
2. To increase traction, an arch Lash second to first, off the front, forming an "X" when viewed from the side. Place the tips of arcs with ropes and using only a rope in an arc.
3. Select the arrows on the straight twigs available. The arrows should be about half, while the bow. Scrape each shaft smooth all around. You probably have to straighten the shaft.
You can bend an arrow by the heat the shaft over hot coals. Do not allow the axis of burn or fire. Hold the shaft straight until it cools. You can make arrowheads from bone, glass, metal, or pieces of rock. You can also sharpen and fire-se harden the shaft. The tightening of fire is actually a misnomer. To harden wood, hold it over hot coals or sink into the depths of coal the ashes, taking care not to burn or scorch the wood. The purpose of hardening the fire is to harden the wood by drying the moisture out of it.
4. You must notch the ends of the arrows on the bowstring.
Cut or file the notch, not divide. Fletching (adding feathers to the notched end of an arrow) improves flight characteristics of the arrow. Fletching is recommended but not necessary in a field appropriate arrow.

HONDA
You can make a sling by tying two pieces of string, each about 60 centimeters (24 inches) long, at opposite ends of a piece of leather or cloth palmsized. Place a rock in the wrapper cloth and a cord around your middle finger and hold in your palm. Keep the other cable between the forefinger and thumb. To launch the stone, spin the sling several times in a circle and release the cable between your thumb and forefinger. Practice to gain proficiency.
The sling is very effective weapon for survival against hunting.
