Would you like access to food and water? Is it easy to leave the area, etc. ..

– Food … have at least six months supply of food storage in your home.

– Water … have a supply of potable water on hand is crucial and you may also want to learn more about the importance of drinking water here.

– Alternatives energy … Many people are turning to systems such as solar or wind energy reserve, but you can also get small generators for home use that will work very well ….

– Bug bags … for each person. You can make your own emergency preparedness kit with some basic supplies found at your local hardware store or find where to get cheap supplies online.

– Self-Defense … weapons of survival may be something you want to look into as well. A good survival knife is an essential element if you are preparing for urban survival, or to stay alive in the desert in fact, in ANY emergency!

So in conclusion, it is absolutely not a bad idea to have some remore area survival plan in motion, but it is utter folly to not have an urban survival plan in place first.
